The launch pad is 8 miles directly West of my house and the launch was flawless. The reflection from the Sun even give the effect of a headlight on the nose of the rocket. The first time I've seen that in my 50 years of watching the launches from here in the valley. Pretty cool stuff.

Just saw the orange flames of the Russian-made first stage engine to the west. Hoping the next launch is at night.

I took a few photos from the roof of my garage. I really miss the launches of a decade ago. Seems like many were just after sunset. That was quite a show.

It looked pretty nice out in Noleta, arcing much farther south and east than a lot of launches. Approximately 6 minutes later, we got the deep rumble.

Just watched it from the parking lot of my office in Goleta. I have to say it wasn't nearly as exciting as watching from my back yard or office when I used to live on VAFB. But I still get a thrill watching them go.

It will be visible, but it might be faint. If I was standing on the corner of State and Victoria I would look towards the Arlington tower.

Wish it was a night launch as originally planned last month ... much cooler to watch.
