The sad part is that this isn't big news.
Another gang member we'll be taking care of because his parents didn't.
At least he'll come out rehabilitated and realize the error of his ways, right?

Just another wasted youth, at least this guy will have a chance to turn it around in his 30's. 665, there is no rehab in CA prisons, it is strictly for punishment and he will come out a better criminal with more tats and will find no legal work other than minimum wage or construction. Not many options for parolee's getting a job with an Attempted Murder beef on your record. The other guy is in Mexico probably, with those facial tats he would be identified in a minute in SB. Yeah it is sad we have to pay tax money to house these crims, I think serious crimes like this and other strike-able offenses should require serious prison time, he would get more if we had a gang injunction, an added 8 years. Save the beds in prison and jail for these guys, not the habitual drunk or drug user as it is a battle we will not win and costs billions.

Esquivel has earned his stripes in his gang, and will now get schooled from hardcore cons in the state pen. After 12 years less time for good behavior he'll be ready to pick up where he left off-violent, impulsive, and dangerous. I agree with 669 and 664, with the tats on his face, unless Lopez has fled to Mexico, he should be so easy to identify and apprehend in this community. Unless he is hiding his sorry face inside an apartment all day......I'm callin' you out, Lopez, right now!
