Keeping our sea lanes open and safe is a critical function where the US military still plays a vital global role ensuring free flow of commerce. We need to take credit for this high seas protection duty, and be glad no other nation is controlling these sea lanes instead of us, with whatever arbitrary agenda they might be willing to impose at their own self-interest whim.
