Put him in 5 east for a week then let the Dr's determine his sanity or physiological well-being. Sounds like a cry for help or he is off his meds. I feel about suicidal people like I do the bridge on 154. You can put all the safety nets and help out there, but if someone is dead-set on killing themselves it is their right and they will succeed.

The Cold Spring bridge barrier stopped suicides at that spot. That is all it was intended to do. it was not intended to stop all suicides. It also prevents rescue workers from having to risk their own lives as well in this treacherous spot. Job done and well done. PS: If someone lives here now as his primary residence and has not re-registered their car in this state, they are breaking the law and avoiding California taxes.

I agree about the barrier. Of course it won't stop determined suicides, but the rescue and recovery people deserve a break.
