I was wondering if the Lakers / Time-Warner cable deal was going to mean that we won't get to watch games in SB unless we pay Cox even more money to get its "sports" package?

I had submitted an article about Cox Cable and the Lakers but Edhat didn't post it.

Essentially, TWC has exclusive rights to all home and away lakers games for well in the future. As of right now, if you live between South of Fresno all the way to San Diego, and including the whole state of Nevada. You're in the Lakers media market. This means, if you want to watch Laker games you must subscribe to the Local Channels broadcasting the game because NBA League-Pass is blacked out for all of these areas. Now, as of today, TWC has not made ANY agreement with other cable providers in the Lakers media market. In other words, if the season started today, we here in Santa Barbara could not watch the game as Cox, Direct TV or Dish have not reached agreements to carry the games on their networks. There is a website, 'I Want My Lakers . com' in which you can read about it and request your local provider carry the games.

Thanks 732! Hopefully something is worked out soon, but I bet they'll hold out talks until preseason begins.

Training Camp Invitees don't get a paycheck. The Lakers already have 14 players signed out of a maximum 15. Matt Barnes is reporteldy still talking with the Lakers so they may not even have a roster spot when they open camp.
