Dave, you're a great inspiration to the "bucket-list" brigade. We should ALL be so inspired to begin our list early and start checking it off...who's to say that we can't just keep adding to it! Great story; keep those friends around!

I remember a Chronicle series back in the 70's about some folks who hiked along that shoreline--dangerous and lonely. Doing it in Kayaks could not have been much easier, though faster.
What did you do for fresh water, and food? Maybe sometime you could do a write up for us? Thanks for sharing the story of your pals' commitment to friendship.

David, What you neglected to mention in your article was the fact that YOU were the one who began this entire adventure!! You were the one who spent countless hours researching the coastline for camping spots, planning the legs of the trip, plotting GPS waypoints, checking weather forecasts, and organizing everything!! Without you, the adventure of a lifetime for you and all the guys involved would never have taken place. To help you complete this last leg of kayaking the entire California Coastline from Oregon to Mexico was their gift back to you!!! As the wife of one of the guys, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving my husband memories that he will treasure for a lifetime!! I'm so very proud of all of you!!
