I googled his name, looks like he's been missing since May, and has a disability.

The word "missing" assumes there is somewhere you should be, and aren't. If he's 20 years old, has been seen several times, going by his middle name, doesn't acknowledge his mother... I'd say he doesn't want to be found? Perhaps someone is missing him, but he might not be "missing"? If he hasn't had his meds since May, perhaps he doesn't need them. I wonder if he cured his special needs when he ran away, if you know what I mean.

485, what's the source of your information? I haven't seen any of this anywhere. When was he last seen?

There were several news articles on it when I googled his name. It said that he was special needs, and that he seemed to be going thru some kind of psychotic episode when approached. Don't know the details, don't know if he was running from something. Maybe he doesn't want to be found. It said that he had a disability, but never said what kind. Seems to be lots of holes in the story. I was also curious why to contact the mother and not the police if he is found...

Clearly a cry for help. I cannot believe this thread. This is a person with special needs who is missing. Without knowledge of this young man's personal life, needs and background, assumptions and wild guesses are not helpful.

It's not assumptions..If the police have spoken to him and not taken him into custody he is not doing anything wrong.

Except that, if it is mental illness, individuals in this country are allowed to go untreated and the families are left to pick up the pieces. I don't know the situation of this case. My point is that it's entirely conceivable that this young man has done nothing legally wrong but is still in danger. My heart goes out to the mother.

My thoughts are with the worried family and the safety of the young man. Period. I try not to judge. It's hard, isn't it, 85? See, I just did it myself. Seriously, this is a forum for people to post news and information, not to try to settle the debate on the definition of disabled vs. psychotic or how far the civil liberties of the mentally ill should extend. What if, for just one day, we expressed positive sentiments and good wishes for those referenced in posts? My Mom had a point. If you can't say something nice...

(485 is typical of the unhelpful, myopic and sarcastic comments that crop up here. Frankly, I'm tired of it. And I know others are, too. I'm pretty confident that nobody wants to hear your rude and judgmental and immature version of the "facts.") I feel for this family and I wish them the best finding this boy. I do think it would be helpful to link to a previous article, if there is one...or give us more details about there where and when he went missing. That kind of information is incredibly helpful since it can help spark recognition of anyone has seen him but just doesn't realize it.

I don't understand why so many say there should be a link to a previous article yet don't bother to look for one. Here's from a quick search on edhat: http://www.edhat.com/site/tidbit.cfm?nid=88449 and here's from a quick search on Noozhawk.

Please vote for Cary's photo!!! Instead of being judgmental , let's join together and make Cary the photo of the day. Then he will be in the newsletter tomorrow and maybe someone will see it and know where he is located. How about we help this poor mother... Obviously, he has a problem. Past articles said he ran away in High School. Please vote for Cary's photo!!!

I was puzzled also, because I thought this was the same young man who was reported missing some time ago. I also had heard he'd been found and did not want to return home and that's been pretty much confirmed, but it doesn't solve the problem of his mother's concern to make contact with him
