You are correct! It is More Mesa. But.......the old timey local pronunciation of this mesa is closer to Mora than More. Don't know why, but there it is.

013 here... born 47 years ago and raised right here. Never heard it or called it mora. Maybe the LA people started calling it that.

Ah, just 47 years here-a newbe. The old prenunciation is close to "Mora". I checked with some other natives after the last post and the consensus is close to "Mora". Maybe it's the Spanish influence.

As a 4th generation Santa Barbaran I can say that we have always called it More Mesa after Mr. More who originally owned the parcel.
