Well I am not familiar with Firstation #4 However if you go to the historical preservation society's webpage and look up the link for designated structures of merit, it lists Firestation #3 as having been but in the same year (1929) and this landmark is located at 415 E Sola Street. Apparently firetation #3 was the former fire alarm headquarters at the time that it was built . Our town is so rich with interesting history and we pass by it every day and don't even realize it.

Jordanos market was where Longs (now CVS) pharmacy is located across from the old Petersen's Drive-in (now Pollo Loco). In the 1950's and 1960's Marrian Moreno used to ride his horse and while pulling a mule behind, would ride down there from his ranch in the Canyon above Foothill Road and Ontare Roads to shop and bring supplies back. I used to ride and work there on the ranch on weekends and in the summer as a young ranch hand and then ride home across the hills to where we lived at 1313 Tunnel Road. There was only the resevoir and one house in that area of the foothills then, the home of Dr. Tanaka.

Trader Joes used to be a Safeway (1960s), Jordanos super-market was around the corner, I think it's a CVS or something now. But, come to think of it, TJs was a Jordanos selling kitchen stuff, etc, a store not market. Also a Standard Brands paint store was there after Safeway.

The grocery across the street from de la Vina Station #4 was a Safeway. In later years Standard Brands Paint was there and I think Jordano's Kitchen Supplies.

Poster here, 406 is correct. This sign is on a building on DLV across the street from the Surgery Center and the TJ's parking lot. I was waiting for my wife to come out of TJ's when I spotted it, we were parked right next to it.

Until aps was repaved in the eighties, the rails used to come through the asphalt in many places. Made for a bumpy road.

It's now a residence. Funny I only noticed the place a couple years ago.

Not on Ontare. Google has failed you! Big Block is right - this marks the old station on DLV.

At Fire Station 4? Too easy to Google. Though it may, for some odd reason, not be installed on Fire Station 4. 19 N. Ontare, next to a house that was probaby robbed on Tues., as I saw 2 police cars there as I drove by approx. 3:45 p.m.

Nice vibrant colors to be appreciated even if I don't know the location. Thanks. Who designed and made the plaque?
