This is SOP here in Carp. The deputies almost always respond in this way in Carpinteria whenever they interrogate anyone. They also usually do this for any traffic stop. Sometimes they have a deputy or 2 in cars within a block or they just pull up to the stopped car.

The guy ran a stop sign, ran license #, had warrants. Nothing all that exciting, probably a good thing.

305, thanks for the update. As I mentioned earlier, SOP here in Carp. If I were stopping someone, I would want lots of backups due to the many drug and alcohol crazed people we now have on our streets.

4283P: Knocking someone down, kicking, punching and tasing multiple times is totally OK in SB county & only requires 1 cop.

If you are referring to the high-speed chase incident, he was originally pulled over for his vehicles headlights not on. And, that happened at night, which is PM.....

If he got pulled over it was in Montecito not Carp. The beginning of the chase was in Montecito. Ones headlights not being on is one of the traits of Drunk, or DUI Driving.

I don't understand; I assumed "yesterday at 11:30" on Carpinteria Ave. meant daytime. How did it turn into no headlights, or high speed chase starting in Montecito. Is there more to the story? I was on Carp. Ave. yesterday @ 11:45am, between Concha Loma and Clementines, and didn't see anything.
