Absolutely incredible pics, and a good story to go along with it! I am envious! I'm sure Pablo's load was a bit lighter coming home!

Awesome photos and video. Thanks for bringing back vivid memories of backpacking in Desolation Wilderness area off of Highway 50 about 40 years ago. Especially all the "dinky lakes". We often managed to find ourselves the only humans up there and would find ourselves our own private little island amongst all the lakes. I remember thinking when I was up there that this is what the "happy hunting ground" must look like. Thanks again for bringing back memories.

Thanks for the pics. I haven't been up to the Dinky Lakes in over 20 years. Great memories. Wish we had a pack buddy like Pablo.

Thank you SO much for the pictures. Took me back 40 years when we backpacked into Elizabeth, Nelson, Reyman, Forster Lakes, etc. The photos on the trail could have been us. What memories.

The award for uplifting, well-done, super feel good post goes to you folks. They were great photos, and the story was super well done, especially with a happy dog center stage! So much negativity around us these days, this made my day, week, and beyond quite cheerful, and reminded me to get out and see the beauty all around us!

Really cool shots - my friend has lauded Dinky Creek for years now I know what he was talking about.

Wow, thanks for all the great comments! I don't mind telling you we set out from the Cliff Lake Trailhead, right by Courtright Resevoir. We were coming out on the weekend and lots of folks were heading in, but during the week it was very empty. It was an amazing trip and we shall return!!

Please tell me the board shorts (in swimming shots) were just on when photos were taken. Why be in such a place and wear swim suits? Ick. Please give beverage-toting dog extra greenie from me. Good dog. (He knows how to skinny-dip!)

I've been to Dinky Lakes, Sequoia and Kings Canyon, Mt. Rainier, and (via a private and very secretive service) Olympus Mons (on the planet Mars). But I still like Dinky Lakes Wilderness the best!

Beautiful pictures, thanks for sharing. I'd need to ride a horse for such a trip, not a hiker. We camp in the Eastern Sierra, just love the quiet and beauty.

I saw a dead sea lion floating a few hundred yards off of Ledbetter during Wet Wednesday last night. Hoped to see a white shark come and take a bite, but nothing to see except a dead sea lion...
