Actually what happen was my husband showed up to do a service call for the Pest Control company he works for and the owners of the house weren't home. He smelled smoke and saw that the back of garage on the outside was on fire. Called 911, found garden hose and was able to get it almost all the way out by the time fire dept showed up! He said flames were shooting up at least 15'+! Fire Dept. said if he hadn't been there house would have been well into being inglufed in flames in 10 mins! I swear all this is true! He just called me and is a ball of nerves now that it's over. He can't believe it all happened.

Honestly he was so pumped he could barely put sentence together. He said something like there was an outside BBQ up against a trellis and the trellis was already on fire. How he ended his phone call was how he can't wait to show me the "honorary fireman badge sticker" they gave him. Sense of humor even in crisis...that's why I married him. LOL If I find out more I will let you all know.

This was really a lucky situation. 505P-Your husband not only certainly saved the garage and house but he may have saved the whole neighborhood up there. The house with the fire is bordered closely on both sides by two neighboring houses and in the back by a tinder dry barranca. One can only imagine what could have happened had he not been there to stop the fire. Apparently, the fire started in some newpapers/papers that were stacked near the outdoor BBQ. Good work Mr. Pest Control guy!

If your husband is Roger who works for Lenz, he was a stand up guy even before he became today's hero.
