Quick, where is Mike Stoker? We need him to do damage control and to tell us what a wonderful job Greka is doing fighting polution.

Greka continues to be the worst example of an oil company. Have they ever gone even a few months without a mishap or sanction from county officials? I don't think so! This company needs to shut down until it gets its house in order. Talk about an environmental disaster waiting to happen. Geeze

Poor Mike Stoker is nothing more than Greka's prostitute. He makes seemingly good money for doing an extremely unpleasant job. What's big Mike gonna spin to us this time?

Greka spokesperson and Mike Stoker is gonna spin this one into another non-incident, #1,256 in Greka's sorry history of industrial pollution. What better qualifications for political office? LOL He's dah man!

I thought Greka changed their name so the spills attributed to it would all get rolled back to zero.

Greka. It figures. Can't wait for Stoker's spin doctoring. Bring it.

It would be interesting to know who is on the take as regards Greka. How can one company get away with so many spills and "incidents?"

No thanks Taxin' Jackson crew - I'll take a guy who was hired as spokesman for a company with leaky pipes than the woman with extremely leaky ethics any day of the week.

236, ah, that's just because you don't have your priorities straight! Anyway, this was an article about an oil spill, wasn't it? Love how everything devolves into politics.

The same ol' drum beat of "the oil industry is a job creator" and "thank goodness for private businesses like Greka in Santa Barbara County" will now start to come out. I'd like to ask Mike Stoker, on the record, what he thinks of the environment. Resources to pillage and profit from? I'll take H.B. Jackson anyday, 236. And most folks outside of Santa Maria/Lompoc will do so also.

well i guess one could consider the oil industry a job creator in that we need the safety crews from Fire, etc on hand to clean up the unending spills....

I (236, BTW) just think it's funny/sad that the second there's a Greka call on a scanner, the Taxin' Jackson Signal illuminates the sky and there's a mad rush to tie to Stoker. Four posts in 17 minutes - they were giddy! This non-SM or Lompocian (?) South Coaster and many I know will pass on Hannah Beth Jackson. Never again after her accidentally recorded dirty politics budgeting scandal.

Most of you political zealots have this all wrong. This is simply about a poorly run & maintained oil company. It's official spokesperson happens to be a local lackey that will be hard pressed this time to spin his way out. Move on, Greka and close shop in this county.

@217P I think nobody would mention Stoker were it not for the fact that he's running for office. Everyone knows that Greka is the epitome of the irresponsible, penny-wise and pound-foolish corporation, so the fact that Stoker continues to prostitute himself is relevant.
