Sigh. We sure do have some gorgeous countryside not too far away, don't we?

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks so much. So dry this year, and still the lakes are looking good. Nothing like the east side of the Sierra, most beautiful mountains on earth!

Is it correct to put an s on the end of Sierra?

115, no; Sierra is plural for mountain(s). In English it would be saying mountainss. Beautiful photos, we have been camping at the BLM Horton Creek campground for 15 years, love the area.

115--If you want to....

As you probably know, sierra means "range". So making it plural doesn't really work in Spanish, since we're just talking about this one range of mountains. Personally when I "think" of the mountains in English, I often say Sierras, because I'm imagining mountains, plural, rather than a range of mountains, singular. At least that's how I explain it to myself. "The Sierras"--to me it means "those mountains" rather than "that mountain range." But grammatically, singular is correct.
