take these photos to Terra Sol Nursery on Overpass Rd (next to La Sumida) in Goleta. The Mgr is a serious succulent/cactus collector. Likely he can give you genus and species, and all cultural info needed. Do you have a photo of the original on the table? That must have been trippy!

Definitely a senseveiria. I have that one, too. I forget the species name.

OP here. Thanks for the feedback and direction on who to ask. Did a brief sansevieria search but didn't yet find one with the sprawling growth pattern, but that may have been from being placed in a unnatural habitat. I wish I had a photo. At the time it was love at first sight, but I had too much yard chaos to think of hosting a 4X6 " green assassin that was unsafe at any height. I even went back a few days later to see if I could buy the whole thing, but it was gone. I will follow up with the manager at Terra and cruise the Internet in the interim. Thanks again.

I checked out my copy of Exotica (Horticultural Bible) and it appears to be Sanseveria cylindrica in the Liliaceae family. There are some interesting pics online if you google it. It looks like it would be happier planted in the ground and allowed to spread and fill in. Interesting plant.
