I wrote about this yesterday on here.. Very glad there are pictures. The 4runner is in the wrong lane and the other car is across both lanes. I'm pretty sure the person in the 4runner was caught by surprise and tried to avoid collision.

I think 999 is probably correct, as there is no D/W the Jetta is going into or out of, she went left as he pulled forward, in the middle of a risky if not plain stupid move. Luckily she was evidently paying attention and not speeding as this was not a serious accident.

The Jetta is obviously at fault for crossing the double yellow first. BTW, no such street as Laurel Springs.

Three point turn across a double yellow line? Stupid and illegal.

Foothill is a free-for-all. Drivers do whatever they want. I live on Foothill near Alamar and cars continually pass over the double yellow line. If you slow to turn into your driveway cars pass over the double yellow. Backing out of your driveway will at times result in an oncoming speeding up (and trust me they are already speeding) and passing over the double yellow - even if you are already moving forward! Cars heading east (into Mission Canyon) along Foothill routinely use the left turn lane as a passing lane when a vehicle ahead of them slows to make a right turn onto Alamar. Several times I’ve even seen an impatient driver pass the two or three cars behind the car turning right. The speed limit is 35 but 45 and over is common. The CHP does not patrol Foothill. What is the point of having Foothill, Mission Ridge, Stanwood, Sycamore Canyon, East Valley etc. designated as a State Highway if the state is unable to enforce traffic laws?

A "3 point turn"??? You mean a U-turn in 3 parts!? The VW decided to turn around and didn't see the SUV coming in the opposite direction.... on a long, narrow and straight road.... in broad daylight!! Who's teaching these young people to drive? Or do they just not care if their driving skills are so bad they are a menace? Or is being a menace a good thing.... a way to get noticed and stand out in the crowd?

what a moronic move. seriously people, if you make a navigation error just deal with it, keep driving to the next place that is safe and legal to correct your error. more and more often i see people who miss a turn for whatever reason and then just whip their vehicle around wherever they please. i watched a girl pull off onto the shoulder of a blind corner near windy gap on the 154 and then make a u-turn across the lines earlier this year. was riding my motorcycle at the time and i wanted to punch her drivers window out. iphone yapping cagers have no consideration for motorcycles, pedestrians or cyclists these days. selfish selfish selfish.

I see that no one here really knows the whole story so most of the comments are pure speculation, however the opinions are interesting. I find it fascinating that no one has noted that perhaps the driver of the SUV could have been speeding (which never happens on 192) and or distracted by her canine companion. I have noticed an increasing number of drivers with their dogs in their laps hanging out of the driver side window.

um, sparkey, you do realize the car that got hit was perpendicular to the flow of traffic over a double yellow line, right? there is absolutely no excuse for making a 3 point turn in the middle of a highway, ever. sometimes context is not as important as people make it out to be. had the vehicle continued a few seconds down the road they could have found a safe and legal place to make a navigational correction.
