Ads mean money. It was probably a business decision, but since they are getting additional money from displaying ads, they may not need those offended customers anymore.

Perhaps that's a sign to not eat at a place that will eventually give you cancer. Buy some healthy food and cook at home, your body will thank you for it.

Another reason not to go to there. As if the list wasn't already long enough.

Cox, Dish or Direct (whoever their provider is) is probably increasing their rate to a commerical rate (or raising the commercial rate). Most of the commercial rates are based on restaurant or bar capacity.

The whole psychology behind all the bright colors in McDonald's is to get you in and out fast. I don't think they want anyone lingering, maybe that's another reason for the less friendly TV stations. McDonald's certainly doesn't cater to your health and I doubt if they care whether you are enjoying the TV. Get the customer in and out fast so you can serve up more burgers, that's their philosophy.

Does the M channel have news too or is it just commercials? @948 McDonald's has a variety of healthy food and is great when you are on the go. They understand what consumers want and have made a lot of changes to their menu. Over the last year they have made a little over $4 billion per quarter, so to say why would anyone choose to go to McDonald's - ask just about anyone!

I love McDonalds. Know full well how bad it is for me. With all the recent innovations there (salads, desserts, gourmet coffee, etc) I wonder why they have never tried an alternative to their fries.

"The M Channel" is not so bad. It's mostly trivia and short informative pieces. I seem to see Susie Orman on it a lot. There is an ad for her credit card (which I find ironic). I would rather "The M Channel" than what they USED to play (Faux News).

I find it funny that most commenters are anti-McD's, and don't say anything about the ads, but an uprising nearly occurred when a gas station having ads was talked about on here. OP: Sucks to say this, but unless you & others stop going (not just only ordering to go - they still get your business that way), it won't make a bit of difference to them. Actually, they'll be making more. Sucks, but they really have no incentive to make people hang out there - at a restaurant, the longer you stay, the more you order (usually drinks, maybe dessert...). Not the same situation in fast food. Maybe you can mention it to the manager, but I wouldn't expect any changes.

Mc Ds is a big hangout in the early morning for the older generation. I see a lot of the same people there just about every morning. They are sipping their coffee and chatting up a storm on whatever the TV screen is airing... Looks like they are having a good time and I can only hope I can join them 30 years from now.

It's a bit ironic that you complain about junk programming at the junk food restaurant. Try bringing a book with you next time so that even though you're poisoning your body you'd be improving your mind.

I eat at McD's because I work nearby. There are lots of healthy choices on the menu. I never have soda, but they make really good (unsweetened) iced tea. They always have lemons. Their side salad is $1.29 or something silly cheap. There are sandwiches on their menu that are similarly priced. I ask for "no mayo" or if I forget to ask, I scrape off the majority of it. So for less than $5 I can get a rather balanced meal with a reasonable caloric load and I can get back to work in less than 30 minutes. Sometimes, though... I admit I splurge. I loves me a swiss & mushroom burger. They put way too much mayo on it though.

McDonald's while not being health food in any means actually isn't as bad for you as many would like you to believe if you make reasonable choices from the menu. A Chipotle burrito or many other upscale fast food type stuff is far higher in calories, sodium, etc than many can even imagine. I'm a total food snob, but must admit Micky D's puts out some of the best fries on the planet when you get them hot and fresh. I'd even admit that McNuggets are enjoyable in some sort of processed junk food type way once in a blue moon.

Y'all are missing out - the one on Fairview is a social hub for senior citizens who get together and have coffee and talk. They tell some pretty cool stories. It has more atmosphere than most fast food joints and there's a big variety of butt extending menu choices. Who could ask for more?

I like their stock a lot more than their food. McD's corporate strategy has been paying dividends (pun intended). They took advantage of a bad economy and realized people still want to eat out and look to them as a lower-cost option. So they did a major investment and physically upgraded many of their stores to entice people to linger in the restaurant longer. New furnishings, large screen TV's, wifi - it first started in the European stores and spread to the U.S. Teens after school especially like to hang out now that they have wifi. Combine that with food consistency and clean restaurants and you get increasing revenues and a winning stock. I don't like their food though, it tastes fake. I prefer El Sitio or Super Cucas.
