good morning Roger, I was assaulted by a person who did work for my father decades ago and never reported it. I don' t know why, I guess because I was so young and didn't know what to do. It still haunts me and I am sure that had I said something, my life might be quite different today.

I was assaulted when I was 20 by a man I was dating. I did report it and it was hell to go through. After all of the interrogation and being made to feel like I was the one guilty of something, they denied my chance to take him to court because there was "not enough evidence". I've been seeing the evidence the past ten years though in the way my life has changed. Forward a few years later, that statistic out there that says if you are assaulted once, you will most likely be assaulted again. Yes, it happened. I didn't bother calling the police. I sent an anonymous report in because I'm thinking the guy would try to strike again. Men get away with these crimes all of the time and because nothing is done, they keep doing it. I wish things could change.

I was raped in college and didn't report it because back then rape was considered the fault of a woman. Coincidentally when I moved here, I found out my rapist lived here. He's prominent in the community and is married with children. I do hope that every day he looks as his daughter, he is reminded of his crime. It burns me up when I see him in the paper, smiling, as if he hasn't a care in the world.

When I was 20 I rejected a dates suggestion that we go to bed. I tried to be nice about it, we were in his parents house. He finally got pissed and said I was leaving NOW!! He threw me out the door in his room into his backyard. He had a hold of my arm and tried to open the gate, but instead shoved me over the six foot fence. I landed on the other side and saw him kick open the gate and come after me. I ran to the neighbors' front door and hung on to the doorknob as he pulled me by my hair. Thankfully someone came to the door and he disappeared. These nice people gave me a ride home and, having a two month old at home at my mothers' , was greeted with a dirty look, her m.o. She never knew of my ordeals, having been kicked out when I was fifteen, she did not care. Her coldness was criminal and that guy died years ago.

I had an adult teacher come on to me and make some lewd suggestions when I was 15... I didn't report it because I thought I'd get in trouble for drinking wine coolers. Years later he went to jail for having sex with minors and similar things and many young girls of the community came out against him when he was in trial. I figured enough kids had decided to speak out they didn't need my voice as well, and I was one of the lucky ones that said NO and walked away. Also, I've had people throw oranges at me from a car (TWICE) while bicycling on the Mesa. I didn't report it because I didn't catch the license plate and thankfully I didn't get hit, but it was scary. Don't throw things from cars, people!

Sence my store was broken into and I called the PD , we had a whitness who saw the people do it , followed them and pointed them out to the PD, they still had cartons of ciggs and a lot of beer, the oficer said they got rid of most the evadence so nothing they can do !! I had a homeless man pull a Big hunting ( Rambo type ) knife on me, my word against his, nothing they can do !! I look forward to some day Ca. passing a carry law like Texas !! I never call 911....

Believe it or not I had some of those horrible things happen to me also. Several times from Military school to the streets on the road. I was younger than. It's really hard to bring it up and write about it. The last time I was slashed acouple times not bad slashes but very scarey..I believe 2 of them were going to kill me One I took care of the 2nd one I fought back and though he got my money and he raped me, he did not get my life. When I was a kid I got beat all the time and never called the police out of fear. I also got stabbed once and did not call the police..Several times though I played Payback on acouple of the attackers one did not recover 2 had pernment injuries, acouple more had broken bones...Not everyone has a great life.

My brother loved to terrorize me as a kid, he was six years older. It's rough when you can't even lean on a "brother".

I was groped by the cable installer when in junior high...pushed him down the basement stairs and ran! He was not there when I came home for dinner.
