Good for you! Love seeing residents who care about how SB looks outside of their own yard. The karma gods smile down on you.

Am uncertain if it was Billy's inspiration or the fear of public shaming, maybe a combination.

Thanks, you are a good neighbor. I don't think most people realize how dangerous overgrowth can be to the elderly like Billy's dad who is legally blind and uses a walker. One fall because of overgrowth on public walkways could be the end for some of them. Now that Billy has made us aware, I think we will see some cleanup happening.

See Billy? It CAN work! BTW, the miniature palm pictured is, believe it or not, Phoenix canariensis/Canary Island Date palm, which can reach over 50' with a 5' trunk and 30' canopy. It's one of our biggest weeds. Many thanks to the reader who acted in the best interest of the community!

@477P - there is no need to be unpleasant. whatever the motivation, someone felt inspired and wanted to share. Good for them and why rain on their parade?

As a powered wheelchair person....I thank you! The sidewalk obstacles are often challenging if not impassable.
