Am interested in knowing if vendors experienced slower business than usual. Seems as if there were fewer crowds, fewer people buying, fewer busy vendors, but no one says this was a quieter Fiesta than usual.

When you read the story it seems that citations went up, arrests went up, and the only thing that went down slightly was DUI arrests. Maybe the headline is not correct? With the increased numbers of citations, maybe the City made a push to increase their revenue from the event? It would be great if someone would post the link to the City study that shows how much revenues increase for the businesses during Fiesta week relative to how much the clean up and enforcement costs increase for the City.

I've lived here my whole life, attended nearly ever Fiesta and I've never seem more proactive police presence as I did this year. I think that has a lot to do with the lack of crime because it had been getting really out of hand in recent years. I'm glad and I think we need a cop or two downtown all year round. I rarely see them unless they are cruising around in individual hoods or responding to a call. We need beat cops. Why don't we have that in the most incident-heavy area outside of the westside?
