There is no question that they didn't need to kill him but most cops are trigger happy and can't resist the temptation to use deadly force even when it isn't necessary.

If he suffered PTSD from the Vietnam War, and even required hospitalization periodically (understandable), how was he licensed for those guns? Something doesn't add up here. I hurt for his family, but he should not have been allowed to own any guns after what the Marines did to him. RIP

I can't say he wasn't doing anything that didn't require arrest or at least questioning (dumping guns out of your car seems a bit scary and illegal to say the least.) But it is a shame they killed him. He seems to have had other issues and I realize it's not the police's duty to evaluate someone first if they feel they are in danger or the public is, but it sure seems like a huge step from low speed chase to shooting this guy.
