There's got to be some bad drugs floating around SM that's making people believe they are action heroes, or video game characters and challenge the local leos. Brandishing a replica gun after an hour long car chase? Really? I guess if these guys were in the Middle East they'd be strapping bomb vests before a night of clubbing.

What is this mantra of "sorry for our officers" moments after one of these (now weekly) police killings is posted on edhat. Can we at least wait for a perfunctory investigation? The rubber stamping of "justified" before the body is even cold makes me wonder why they waste $$$ doing any follow-up. We know what their conclusion will be.

@352P What about this story sounded suspicious to you? I think investigations are always needed, but not only to determine if a shooting is justified. Sometimes, even though a shooting is justified, the investigators can learn how to prevent similar future situations from escalating to the level of deadly force.

What the heck is going on up there? Maybe the SMPD should take up skeet shooting and stop practicing on the populace. Perhaps some training in non-lethal force is in order. Geez!

If you run from the cops and don't comply to their requests and then brandish a "weapon" , what are the cops supposed to do? Wait for a bullet to hit them in a 1/10 of a second? What is wrong with you people. The cops aren't counselors! They have to protect themselves as well as the public. If you run from the cops, you are an IDIOT!
