They paved paradise, and put up ... some more condominiums. Stop reproducing!

Why are these being called "condominiums" when they are really apartments for rent? There are no owner-occupied units in Willow Springs currently. It's all rental housing.

From a resources aspect, we are built out. Nature does not always allow unlimited expansion; a lesson government and developers are loathe to learn. Looking at 101, we cannot afford to pave paradise, but these guys will never stop raping for profit.

Towbes puts up good quality units that are in a moderate price range providing housing in Goleta so folks who live out there don't have to drive, or drive very far to work. We Santa Barbarans wank about the cost of housing, but don't want anything built. QYB.

This housing is needed. If you don't need housing, you're in great shape. But we can't pretend there isn't a need. We have a certain population density in this area. It's never going back to the good old days some of you remember. Growth happens. And I for one think Towbes is one of the better developers we have in this area. Just my opinion, but he makes nice, safe, quality and aestheticly pleasing buildings.

Has anyone heard of the Westar project across the street from Costco? It's slated to be a huge, high end mixed use retail/high end apartment with hundreds of units in that now-empty field. I don't see it mentioned in the press much. It's still in the approvals stage but it's on its way.

Thanks to the Towbes Group for running non-smoking complexes and thereby protecting health and quality-of-living for their residents.

Towbes seems to have a good thing going. He writes big checks all around town and nobody questions his development. Seems like a fair deal.

I've never rented from Towbes, but as a pet-owning renter, I do appreciate that many of his properties are pet-friendly.

It seems unfair that those of us that were lucky enough to move to SB and find housing before this project was proposed want to deny others their chance at paradise. I'm sure my neighborhood was a beautiful field before they bulldozed it and built my house. I do hope someone steps in a saves that property on the mountainside of 101 between Carneros and Storke before that becomes an asphalt jungle tho. I'd even kick in some money to preserve that.

304274: And the development for the field at the end of Hollister between Elwood elementary school and the 101 overpass? Such a shame to see all these open spaces become housing. My opinion is there are too many people here already. I understand tourists, we are a tourist town. But we don't need more housing here. If we pave and build over everything, we won't be beautiful SB/Goleta any longer.
