303433P - They have NEVER ticketed cars in this zone during the Fiesta and Solstice parades. It's just now that the SBPD is getting used to this new information promulgation tool, they want to make it look like they are the "good guys" and are doing us all a favor.

So who made this call? The city council, the mayor or just the police department? Seems to me this sort of decision should be by elected officials and accompanied by some sort of public hearing. Maybe it was? Anyway, lots of money is being given away. But if they can do this sort of thing, why don't they give folks caught in the no parking zone after the street sweeper has gone by a break? My guess is they don't want to offend the tourists but locals are fair game.

I find it both sad and ironic that the SBPD tickets people on federal holidays such as Memorial day - a day we're supposed to honor those who sacrificed for our freedom, while they forgive the thousands of people who arrive to celebrate what is essentially become Mexican Immigrant Day....

Good for the PD for choosing to spend their resources on keeping the area safe during the Thing Makes Me Not Go Past Turnpike. Parking enforcement is a thankless task.

used to be able to park at the large DMV parking lot but now it sits empty. I applaud the waving of the 90 minute zones but I don't see too many West of St. St. Why not wave them all except parking structures?
And I do vote for Solstice , too.
