Must have been really frightening for the people who saw headlights from the wrong way coming straight for them with nothing they could do to prevent an accident. Hope they have a speedy recovery.

Jeez.... being out and about after 2 am is bad for your health: stabbings, wrong way drivers.....

Avoid the fast lane late at night. If there is a wrong way driver on the freeway, they are under they tend to stay to their right lane (which is your left hand side or the fast lane) and they will veer to the right if they see the approaching headlights of cars rightfully proceeding in the proper lanes. Pull to your left and you may be able to avoid them if you know what the impaired driver's most usual action will be.

I meant to type, "pull to your right hand side" and avoid going into the left side lanes.

930- good advice! Generally good idea to not be in the left/fast lane unless you're passing. Must be a terrible experience to see someone coming at you, they in the wrong way side!

918 - right you are - both drivers were drunk - supports your theory.

had the same thing happen to me on new years a few years back on northbound 101. I was getting on the hwy from garden and as soon as I hit the flat I see headlights coming at me on the same lane. I quickly veered onto the shoulder and the car stayed its course and didnt even slow down.. close call
