Not sure about number of horses, but I'll guess 3,428 "road apples."

Who does the counting and how?! I figure y'all are on the street and have back-up counters. Cool contest.(yes, I'm new around here.) Horsies are the only reason I watch the parade.

3,428 "Road Apples" divided by 8 "Road Apple" average per horse = 428 1/2 Horses. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

Of course it is legal, 302796. But feel free to hire Darryl Genis to argue otherwise.

796 LOL, talk about cheap!!!!

I find it very, very hard to believe that only 5.4% of subscribers can afford to pay 54 pennies/week (discount rate) or a WHOPPING ONE DOLLAR A WEEK FULL PRICE - edhat does a public service, to a better degree than a LOT of news agencies, that a mere 1 out of every 20 people actually pay the ridiculously small fee for. I'm surprised they're able to even stay afloat, especially with the kind of entitlement *some* unpaid subscribers express even in the face of receiving FREE breaking news, FREE advice, FREE entertainment, FREE recommendations, I could go on...

Very good question, though, about the mules. I figger 4-legged, hoofed, herbivorous animals ridden or driven by bipeds *will* be counted, regardless of the size of their ears. :-)

I won both the solstice drum count and the horse count last year, (didnt get in on the solstice one this year)!but didn't pick up the second T-shirt because I already had one. Hoping for this year as they may have some new styles. The store that carries them does have some cool stuff including some locally made soap that is very nice and reasonabley priced. Also nice staff I know where they are, but help me out Edhat, what is the name?

618, that is funny! I remember when, being a wrangler, Jimmy would pick up the road apples to gross out the kids. He would wind up the horses' tails and just be an all 'round fun guy to work with. One thing; he was wrong when he said I was gonna wreck, when I ponied three horses down Arroyo Burro road.
