So true! Popular items when my cats were kittens included Q-tips (which we'd find tucked under area rugs), the bathtub plug, party blowers and pens. My favorite was when I noticed my kittens playing with little red balls...except they didn't have any little red balls. Turned out that unbeknownst to me, they'd gotten big enough to jump on the kitchen counter and were batting around some just-picked cherry tomatoes they'd knocked to the floor. Glad you're having fun, Dan!

YAY!!! kitty pics. can we have a weekly "feature"? a cyber friend of mine's cat took up with her spatula which he would drag from the pitcher on the counter to his bed. once he took the whisk, and once a cheese grater, but he was obsessed with the spatula. so she gave up, drew a smiley face on it, and gave it to him. if you type "katrina kittle's cat joey" into google images you'll see some really cute pictures of him.

Tin foil balls on a hard wood floor are fantastic! But just be glad you don't have long hair that needs to be pulled into a ponytail, Dan. Hair scrunchies were a favorite of one of my kitties. Oh, and just wait for them to learn to climb the furniture, walk across your computer keyboard, and do searches on the internet!

BTW, Dan, did you ever settle on names for your 2? Inquiring minds want to know.

Catmom, you and I had the same thought! I was wondering about their names too. Dan, they have been with you for a week now, right? Any feel for their names? It took us about 3 days to name Tripper. Orca came to us rather quickly. Our new kitty was named Mango (by our 11 yr old daughter) pretty much before we got him. Enjoy these cute little guys! They sure look happy!

Sorry to lecture, but don't let them grow up thinking a hand is a toy! Toys are to be attacked, not hands. Keep the pics coming; I'm envious. :-) (When they get bigger, try the entire water bottle. I had a cat that wrestled with an empty one.)

Oooh, they are adorable!! There is nothing better than a kitty pile, except a sleeping kitty pile on your lap. I'm so happy for you! What did you name them and what is the name of your friend's kitty?

Still no names. Cleo or Chloe might work for the b&w girl. I talked to my friends today and they will be in town a week from tomorrow. So one more week with three kittens. I've noticed the one that is leaving is the most independent of the three. While the two of mine seem to play and sleep together more. Still, it will be hard to let her go. . . At the same time I remember the special bond that I had with Bob. I think part of that came from him leaving the litter before he was weaned. I want to bond with my two and have the other one bond with her new humans. I think it will all work out. And as Moonwillow said, nothing better than a kitty pile.

I had a calico manx named "Chloe" when I was a teenager, so that one gets my vote!

Good Medicine - you can never be to careful w/ the Sparket's rings sneak up on you and pull your tail. Hardwood floors and new kittens...gotta be comedy central 24/7. Nanny cam with live feed to EdHat.

Oh Yes, the paper bag! I have 1-2 in the house at all times. Roll the top down to keep them sturdier (I know you know this). A stick/rod toy, no feathers needed, under a sheet of newspaper or the paper bag has always been the the easiest, cheapest and most popular toy, as long as it has a human on the other end. Boxes with entrance holes cut into them for rest breaks (the cartons that office copy paper comes in. Great cat beds). And I learned not to miss the trash basket with Q-tips. Aw heck, just give the Q-Tips to your cat. :-)

My cat was a jewel thief when she was a kitten. I have a selection of single earrings. She never stole two at the same time.

Plastic ring-pull tabs from milk cartons are my cats fave-- toss one in the air and he does back flips! Also any empty box large enough to climb into makes a fine cat cave.

Here's what I'd like: All the various suggested toys strewn about, turn your kitties loose, then post the video for us. Yippee!
