Urinating in public is considered a sex crime if the police want to be really punitive, and the guy might have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life. Plus dealing with a DUI is not a walk in the park either. They estimate it costs $10K minimum by the time you add up lost work time, lawyer fees, court fees, etc. I'm old enough to remember the days when it was common to drink and drive but stopped it many years ago thanks to the education efforts by MADD.

"Plowing into the hotel" brought to mind a totally different impression than the photo actually shows. It looks more like "bumped the outer wall of the hotel's parking lot".... nah, doesn't sound nearly as interesting. 9694.... It's amazing that the cost for a DUI has resisted inflation and the higher cost of living over the years. I got a DUI 30 years ago and that was the estimated cost THEN. In today's dollars it's an outright bargain.

Darryl Genis will get him off the charges. Genis is doing a great job protecting us from a corrupt police force that wants to take away our rights to pee off the pier and drink and drive. Genis has worked unselfishly to make SB a much better community. My hat is off to him. I do realize he needs to charge a lot for his fees, but living the good life of a DUI attorney is pricey in a town like this.

He is lucky his truck got hooked up on the cable holding up the pole. He was trying to back out of there spinning his tires. He made a squealing right hand u-turn on what should have been a right turn. It was completely out of control. He crossed the center line on Castillo on the turn. If he kept going someone would have gotten hurt. Good thing he got stuck there.
