These comments bring to mind "stoners" such as Carl Sagan, Michael Phelps and Louis Armstrong. I guess that you should just stick with the name calling, your side has no better arguments.

There are some lazy stoners, and there are some worthless stoners, and then there are some loser stoners. BUT, not all stoners are lazy, worthless, or a loser.

Gorden Gecko was a figment of the liberal Hollywood agenda. See if you can vote with facts in your head; not deliberate fiction. Your uninformed vote scares the bejeezus out of the rest of us. BTW: some of the biggest 1% fat cats are found within this Hollywood elite whose salaries far outstrip the little guys working for them. Exactly why do some Hollywood stars make so much money and movie goers get asked to shoulder this burden? Gosh, it is the free market principle - willing buyer meets willing seller. Even Michael Moore knows how to exploit that one as good as Greed is Good Gecko. Spare us from shallow platitudes wrapped up in faux piety.

The switcheroo that the president pulled on this issue drives me crazy, but I'll still vote for him because Gorden Gecko and the Republicans scare the bejeesus out of me!

299374 - You sound like a stoner who is whining because you can't legally buy as much pot as you'd like to smoke on a daily basis. And let me ask you THIS (much more poignant) question, Would a cop say they would rather handle a stoner, a drunk, or someone who is sober? I'm sick and tired of stoners like you screaming about alcohol...as if taking the attention off how BAD marijuana is by focusing instead on alcohol will somehow make marijuana any better. "Don't pay any attention to that man behind the curtain...." And yes, I smoked the stuff for years, and I know what I speak of.

Give me a stoner any day over a drunk. Ask any cop, would they rather handle a stoner who wants to sleep or a drunk who wants to fight? This ridiculous war on drugs is a waste of time and money- the only groups that benefit are the beer and liquor corporations, and the prison guard and public safety unions. Are these really the groups that should be making public policy for our country?

Voters shouldn't believe campaign lies and "empty promises"; anyone can say whatever they want. But why should you as a responsible voter believe them? Don't blame the candidates. Blame yourselves. You seem to like "empty promises". Then you get stuck with empty candidates. Your call, but you could see this last 2008 election free-fall coming with even the slightest bit of independent homework.

This crack-down is not Obama's decision. It is the District Attorney's who are making these decisions - which is against the policy of the US Attorney General, Eric Holder - who the Republicans are going after with a vengeance. My guess is that the California State Attorneys doing this are being heavily influenced by the Republican party. Going after MM is an easy target for them - they are doing this to put Obama and Holder in a hard place - if Obama tries to stop this, the Republicans will use that against him saying he is pro-pot and losing those voters. "Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. sharply criticized lawmakers Monday for voting to hold him in contempt of Congress last week, saying Republicans have made him a “proxy” to attack President Obama in an election year." Example - Melinda Haag, U.S Attorney for Northern California - who unfortunately was appointed by Obama - is leading the attack.

360: You are correct. Maybe they shouldn't make empty promises during their campaigns then. The only thing I like about Obama is that he is not Mitt Romney. Not enough reason to vote for either.

Really, do you not think that Obama is trying to appeal to the moderate voters by not getting in the way of his federal prosecutors who are going after the pharmacies with great zeal? I wish they had gone after the Wall Street bankers that put us in this recession with their creative financing schemes and mortgage back securities. Has anyone except Martha Stewart and Bernie Madoff gone to jail for financial crimes? Obama is trying to have it both ways, but in doing so he risks giving away the election to Romney. People prefer a president that stands up for his principles instead of trying to appeal to the conservatives.

It never ceases to amaze me, the number of people who think that ANY of our president's whom they choose to criticize is somehow "personally" responsible for EVERY thing that happens during his term ? ! ..... They are President's and NOT KINGS, not TZAR'S, not Dictator's !!! No one person could possibly be responsible for everything that happens in our country. Wake up !

Obama did promise not to go after mmj clinics if they were acting in accordance with state law. But he lied and has gone after them more than any other president and with a vengeance. Obama lies.
