ACME retail drug-front has just remorphed itself. Feds need to pay attention to what is going on at that property.

No you are dead wrong. The feds need to keep out of state's rights. We voted for medical marijuana. They should have got nothing but an apology.

Problem with pot heads and the dopes who run the retail pot shops is pot use leads to very poor judgment. Eventually all these pot shops will implode under their own stupidity. No loss. Pot is a built in path to self-destruction.

Here is a short list of stupid people (according to you) that use/used cannabis: Sir Richard Branson, Michael Phelps, Barack Obama, Michael Bloomberg, Ted Turner, Montel Williams, Stephen King, Arnold Schwartzenegger, Bill Clinton, John F Kennedy, Steve Jobs, Queen Victoria, Bruce Lee, The Beatles, Bill Gates, Carl Sagan, Dan Quayle, Emperor Liu Chi-nu, Emperor Shen-Nung, Friedrich Nietzsche, George Soros, George Washington, Hunter S. Thompson, Jesse Ventura, John Kerry, John Wayne, Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali, William Shakespeare…I could go on and on…But you get the point. I wonder if you will ever be on a list next to the names of these “stupid” people. My guess is not…

299362 - Give me a break. Not one person on that list is an avid stoner. Experimenting a few times in ones life is one thing, sitting around the house high all day is another. It's the serious stoners I have a problem with. The ones that can't make it through the day without getting high. Just like an alcoholic, they CANNOT simply quit. Oh, they say they can. But they can't. And these shops are all run by these stoners.

Shakespeare?? Seriously, that's a stretch, I think. Sure, plenty of people have smoked dope, but this is one of those lists compiled by some 420 advocacy group. I'm guessing we won't be checking w those Chinese emperors, Washington, Nietzsche et al. FWIW, I'm pro-legalization, but think that the "dispensaries" were largely a joke as run here in SB and that these sort of spurious arguments, dubious lists and often paranoia-tinged rants only serve to enhance the popular perception that smokers are not the brightest bulbs.

But if you are PRO legalization than why would you have a problem with any list? If you really feel everyone should be able to use cannabis?

362: I don't like made-up "facts" and endorsements via long-dead "supporters" of a cause. And, as I said, such evidence works against its intentions. I'm pro (regulated and taxed) legalization w the same sort of controls, for better or worse, as we have in place for alcohol, cigarettes etc. Citing a mythological Chinese emperor (for one example) as a marijuana user brings nothing to the table. I could also argue that Zeus, Michelangelo and Millard Fillmore were ardently anti-pot. What would it prove??

Here's a good idea. Why don't we look at all the other countries around the world who have legalized pot and learn from their best practices, how to dispense, tax and deal with any attendant social issues. Not sure it is smart to be the very first country or state in the entire world to fully legalize pot. Decriminalized pot countries don't count; the bleat is for fully legal pot. Let's learn by others example how to make that work.

Portugal decriminalized ALL drugs a decade ago. They went from one of the highest disease transmission rates to one of the lowest. Crime in general dropped and use has not significantly increased. Check it out online because the media will report kardashian krap instead. There is a lot of money in for profit prisons and illegal drugs so we'll keep our national eyes shut.

I, for one, am very glad to see the laws of this country being enforced and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. If you don't like a law then you get your legislators to change the laws. You don't select which ones you want to enforce and not enforce based on your personal feelings. Enforcement and prosecution are what keeps us from sinking into anarchy.

We did change the law it was back in 1996. Proposition 215, or the Compassionate Use Act of 1996,[1] is a California law concerning the use of medical cannabis. It was enacted, on November 5, 1996, by means of the initiative process, and passed with 5,382,915 (55.6%) votes in favor and 4,301,960 (44.4%) against. Now I want to see voters rights enforced!!! Thant is what keeps us from sinking into anarchy. The people have spoken!!!

Nope, I said where is pot fully legal; not just decriminalized. Portugal only decriminalized it. Holland only decriminalized it. Big difference. Portugal is one of the failed nation states in the EU. One of the PIIGS- Portugal, Ireland, Italy, Greece and Spain. How is all that easy dope working for you, Portugal? What nation consistently ranks at the top of success and quality of life? Singapore - where any illegal drug use carries the death penalty. Go figure. So I repeat, where is the a nation that has a direct interest in the sale, taxation and regulation of pot sales? That is what the pro-pot crowd is asking for. They want it sold, taxed and regulated like alcohol.

Correlation is not causation, 234. Can you provide proof that decriminalization and not an out of control and unregulated banking industry led to Portugal's financial problems? :)

362, I am afraid you are mistaken. The federal law trumps the state law. In this case, the perps broke the state laws.

299541P How do you know they broke state law? I missed the part where there was a trial with evidence shown. A plea deal is accepted all the time by people that believe they will win the trial but don't want to risk it. Because once you go to trial they throw the book at you if you lose. Sometimes its better not to take the chance. Do you think these two people deserved to be put in prison for 10-15 years? You do realize the California prison system is bursting. No room for anyone but hard core criminals(violent felony's,Murder,Rape,molesters,robbery..etc) The county jails are now full with people that should be in prison.

You want a parcel tax from me? Use it to build prisons, and not inflate even further teachers salaries, benefits and perks.

Good gravy, I can't believe this "pot is bad", "dangerous", etc, is still going on. Alcohol is the #1 drug problem in the U.S. I'm sure all the ranters here take a drink, or more, and think it's just fine. Go to lower State on the weekends and tell us drinking is a better option than smoking, people are better behaved drunk than stoned.
