What would you do if someone was pointing a gun in your direction and you had a gun give them a kiss?

Five investigations is spreading them too thin? Why do I get the feeling this is going to be followed by a request for more funds to the department. They aren't going to charge the police involved anyway. If this is truely putting a strain on their resources then don't "help out." Let the other agencies deal with it. SBSO is a complete joke, especially when it comes to proper investigations.

@228P, You make a pretty strong statement with your comment about SBSO being a "complete joke". Can you cite any examples? My question to you is not a defense of SBSO. Rather, I would like to know what information you know, or have, to substantiate your opinion of them. I'm a SB County resident and want to know about the men and women that protect my family and I.

I certainly hope they choose to protect you and your family if you ever need it 252. They did not do this for my family. Sloppy investigation and assumptions was all we got. Luckily we now have a great lawyer that is going to see that those who did wrong are held accountable.

There are good and bad in any big organization. The SBSO has far more good than bad cops; they even have a lot of pretty good managers, though overall top management could be improved. With our big homeless and drug problems leading to lots of people in jail, they are stretched thin to do all the jobs we want them to do. I am pleased that those who chose to endanger others are finally and strongly getting the message that cops will shoot. If you have to shoot, you have to shoot to stop now, which means shooting to kill. Shooting to wound is a myth, and is impossible to do in rapidly changing, dangerous, stressful situations. Don't do anything that would make a cop have to pull a gun on you, because you'll die. Hurrah that the cops take their jobs and responsibilities so seriously that they investigate every shooting to make sure it was justified. I hope most of us are regularly on their side.

It's not the cops who decide what to concentrate on.. The politicians and DA.. have that clout.. just ask Cam! If the PD wanted to rid SB of the homeless.. they would already be long gone! Can you imagine a more frustrating job than being a lawman or woman and being told NOT to enforce the law? The homeless (what happened to the word Bum) and illegals.. same story .. don't enforce the laws we already have..because the politicians don't like those laws!
