Unfortunately I doubt the owners care if they just dumped him. I wouldn't waste a second asking for them; spend a little extra time loving him in his last few hours. Poor baby.

There is a triplex for sale next to Storybook Inn. Swear I saw this cat there while looking at triplex. Remarked to my husband that I didn't want the property but would take the cat! Wish I had stolen him :-(

Sometimes I really don't like the human race. Poor kitty; thanks for easing him on his way...

Better for him to be loved and given a soft bed before being put down than painfully dying on the streets all alone. Thanks for the care you've given him.

Perhaps the family knew the cat was sick and took it to the fire station because they wanted to get it help they could not afford. This is horrible to see and I feel for the cat but I prefer to think the humans took it to a safe place because they wanted what was best for it. People sometimes fall on hard times especially in this recession. Its really too bad nothing can be done, it looks like one of my boys.

Comment 157. Animal Rescue Team here: There is NO hope. We could extend his life, but why? He is suffering, losing weight, lungs are full of fluid making breathing difficult. It will be one of our team Vets, the and our volunteers who will end up with the sad deed of sending him over the rainbows bridge this evening. We could sure use donations to help off set the cost of caring for the other 149 animals in our care. We have showered this sweet baby with warmth, care, lots of love and affection. Trust us, this is NOT going to be easy. We really had high hopes that someone would come forward and want to be there for him.

Thank you to the animal rescue team for caring for this suffering kitty and for giving him a painless and peaceful way to end his life. And I wish we were as compassionate about ending the suffering of our fellow human's who wish for a painless & peaceful end as well.

Too bad for this kitty, it's quite beautiful. As for finding the owners to say goodbye, the humane society doesn't allow that. I contacted them about euthanasia for my dog and was told they could do it but that I wouldn't be allowed to be with her during the event. So I used a vet. Much more expensive, but at least I was able to be with my family member through the process.

282, that's a cat litter pan. 092 Right on. Julia is being amazingly sympathetic about having an owner come forward. ART & she are without question doing the right thing. Thank goodness the cat will be euthanized rather than drowning to death (in its own lungs). This type of thing is more common than you can imagine unless you're "in the business."

Kitty crossed the rainbow bridge today. This evening we gave him a sedative. While waiting for the drug to take affect, Julia Di Sieno spoke briefly with Fire Station 30 of Solvang with last minute updates. The Fire captain told Julia he wanted to adopt the kitty, if his owner was not found. This made the euthansia even more difficult for Julia. Julia Di Sieno, co founder and exutive director held Kitty close, and spoke softly to him while he clung to her and slipped away. No more suffering sweet kitty. Comment 367. No animal should ever be dropped off and die alone. The last thing to go, is their hearing. We all continued to try and comfort this handsome boy, when he left his sick little body.....=( Its music to our ears that you had your Vet do the deed. Thank you for the compassion. Helps us get thru the many sad and difficult times of running an animal/wildlife org... ART, Inc.
