Looks like she is wearing medical clothes... Could work at the hospital or in a medical place. I'm sure someone will recognize this thief. Wish I could enlarge the picture.

SBMedical Foundation/Sansum is just around the corner. Might she work there? Dental offices and even a nursing home are a short distance up LaCumbre. Disappointing.

With video surveelience everywhere, now we'll have hero's turning in wallets and asking, "did I get on T.V.?" This is becoming absurd. Is the act rightous? Obviously not. Yesterday a photo runs of the woman who had the dog. Today it's just a random woman standing in line. These photos show no act in progress. Sooner or later, you'll be the innocent one published about town. Looking forward to the Libel suit headed this way. Watch out Cam Sanchez!

Wow, she's going to be so busted! Hope she didn't spend the money and has the good sense to mail the wallet to the owner with the money in it so she can say that she always intended to return it!

@321 - you lost me on this one. To what stereotype do you refer? Gender? Skin color? Scrubs wearer? Pharmacy shopper? There hasn't been a mention of stereotyping until your comment.

It'll be interesting to find out who employs Nurse Gimme. She certainly fits the description of 'medical waste'.

:( bummer. those 400 bucks are not even worth the embarassment I learned things like this a LONG time ago when I was a kid. My parents and grandparents were from very humble and poor origins but they never tolerated theft or dishonesty at all costs. Poor lady. I know times are tough but in the end, not worth the bad karma! The redeeming part of this story is that she DID turn herself in. She is like all of us, prone to make a mistake and should be allowed to correct it. :)

I've twice turned in wallets -- Costco and the Goleta library -- which I'm guessing slipped out of men's back pockets. But I was really surprised the other evening to find an OPEN handbag in an unattended shopping cart at a local supermarket. I flagged the closest female shopper -- it was hers and she didn't seem concerned. She was so blase about it that I wonder now if she was an undercover officer.

488P here. No, it wasn't you. This was at -- if I recall correctly -- a Von's, and the handbag's owner had wandered pretty far away.

My Father was from the depression era = any theft was not tolerated. they lived on a farm and got hit with hoof and mouth disease and lost all their cows in 30 days - forced to move to town - Town of 160 people - At age 9 - i found a wallet with 1200 dollars in it - the women had come to town to pay off her farm loan - i took it to my dad who called the lady - she gave me 10 dollars reward - back in the day that was alot - I taught my kids the same -

Odd that more people care about pets' sexual behaviour than blatant, deliberate theft. How humanitarian! How misplaced your attitudes. Goat, pig, cow, beefalo, chicken, turkey, squab; kill two birds with one stone: put dog on the menu at the county lockup. 1 eliminates overcrowding at animal control, a fitting name if we place the likes of this thieving dirtbag there. 2saves money for the taxpayers. How is it that anyone wearing scrubs is always considered and labeled a "nurse", the person could be a housekeeper, nurses' aide, home health aide, dental assistant, work in a vet office or clinic or just wear scrubs because it is convenient.....I love the assumptions that she is a nurse when it is probably far from the truth.
