Nice article, covering all the top tourist spots, plus some upscale and downscale opportunities. I was pleased to see bicycling mentioned twice, and walking all around our community included. What our visitors may not do at home, they often choose to partake when on vacation if we make it enticing and pleasant enough,

Maybe each tourist coming to SB can receive their own complimentary gentle grifter, genteel yoach, or artsy busker to take back home with them to LA.

@875 or maybe every tourist can receive their own convicted ponzi scheme felon, fallen hedge fund manager, or heir/ess to a fortune built on backing hostile forces to protect their interests in oil rich countries. For that matter, maybe every tourist can receive their own underwater homeowner and turn out the lights when they leave.

Is the East Beach Grill really open for dinner as the article says?

I think the LA Times did a bang-up job! For those who complain about tourists, this has been a tourist town since the 1800s, our economy depends on it. At Fiesta some gripe, "It was better when it was just for locals." Never was exclusively for locals; it started to lure tourists here in the summer, when SB was a winter resort. For those who don't like having tourists, can you suggest an alternative type business to keep SB going (one w/o smoke stacks).

Yup, an alternative is to legalize pot and mix in Doperies along with Wineries. Plenty of state water for both.
