While accidents happen all the time, this is interesting because they are both the same model, and because both are such new cars. The black one (without license plates yet) is a 2013 model (taillights give it away as does paper plates). The silver one is a 2010, or 2011 or 2012 model I believe (judging by the side mirrors and 3/4 windows).

Glad to hear no one was seriously hurt. Bummer for both owners!

Ouch that's going to hurt their pocket books, thank God not their persona...

Hmmmm. If this is the same silver Mustang I've seen speeding through the neighborhood, I am not surprised.

Maybe they were racing each other. If so then it is totally karma :)

Yay. Someone's misfortune is recorded for us to see. Fantastic. Nicely done. Let's speculate on them racing/ being drunk/breaking the law, shall we? Let's stay they deserved it. Whee, how fun. :(

Re 334, Maybe if such things were more often shared it would cause us to be more aware of consequences of our carelessness and thoughtlessness and act accordingly.

Glad it wasn't the fine, FINE red shiny sparkly approx. '68 I saw today on De la Vina or State near De la Vina before 12:30. Kudos to the owner, if you see this. ;-)

I gotta say, this accident was probably a bit of power tripping -- or (what I didn't want to say) testosterone. Glad I was done with the area before it happened.

I had someone blow by me lane switching between TJ's on De la Vina and San Roque, where I turned right. I already knew the driver was amped; all I could do was use my turn signal and get the heck outta the way. It was silver smaller SUV of some type. Glad you made the light at State & San Roque.

Glad no one was hurt. That part of State St. is always an intense driving situation. Lots of high speed passing and people who can't seem to stay between the lines.

Seeing the MacKenzie Market in that photo makes me want a gyro. Definitely the best Greek gyros in town!

It is a very dangerous place to have a cross walk! One of these days someone is going to get killed there. I have seen far too many close calls at that intersection.

I have to agree with the comment that this is nothing but a salacious view of the unfortunate misdeeds of some reprobate. 3 pics of the same damaged car, same angle and everything but none of the damage sustained by the other.

I feel the story is incomplete so the imaginative reader is forced to fill in the blanks with all manner of supposition, prognostication and divination. Hell you could've included a photo of an old lady at the bus stop and imply, without saying a word, she had something to do with it.

I love Edhat in the morning.... you guys are sooooo entertaining.

I drove my ex boss to pick up a older mustang in perfect shape. It wasn't long before his teenage son ruined it.

don't get why they still make these inefficient, poor handling hunks of junk. like another poster said, i'll take that '68 fastback over one of these any day. the convertible model weighs about a hundred pounds less than my full size, extended cab pickup with a small block v8. what a waste of space and fuel economy!

334....Really?
337....I agree. And especially because it wasn't far from here that the hit and run occured.

578 REALLY???

I seriously doubt you've driven any of the more recent Mustangs.

The ones with the truly unsafe handling were the 67-68 GTA's with 390 V8. Inefficient? Try 6 mpg city and 10-12 Freeway if you kept the speed under 70. Handling? My '67 GTA Fastback was front-heavy and feather-weight over rear axle. Whenever it rained, I had to throw two 50-Lb sacks of redi-mix in the back or my car handled worse than a 1960 Corvair!

Mustangs of the past 15 years or so, have far closer to even front/rear weight distribution, for one. Their suspensions in recent years have drawn considerable praise from professional automobile test drivers, and my '98 with manual tranny, would deliver 28 mpg at an average 75 mph on the freeway between L.A. and S.B. For a car that makes 60 mph in under 6 seconds, I think that's pretty darned efficient fuel consumption, and I'll bet it totally blows away the lousy gas mileage you're getting on that bloated truck.

654, i am absolutely not saying they should still be building 67 mustangs. it's the exact opposite actually, it's the continued attempt to make contemporary version of something that only worked in the 1960's that's so ridiculous. i understand there will always be mustang fanatics but at that price point for a "sports car" an m3 makes a lot more sense. not to mention if you don't care about styling (what late model mustang owner can really say they do?) and want sheer muscle just buy a corvette. by the way that poor truck gets over 20 mpg on the highway with two motorcycles and a weekend of camping gear in the bed, she's insulted that you'd scoff at her utility.

Fords new GT500’s top speed is in excess of 200 (!) mph. Chew on that Bmw M3, Camaro ZL1. Heck; chew on that, Corvette Z06, with your piddling 198 mph.
