They shot him for ramming a cop car? Something must be missing from that story. That just doesn't seem like a deadly force situation. I know they like to play the "he's coming right for us!" card but this seems a bit much. They already had traffic diverted off the freeway so there was no imminent danger to the public and he was on a bridge. Block the ends and what can to do?

Seriously 3528?? Ramming aanother vehicle, most likely occupied, with a 3000ish pound car isn't considered deadly force? I think the law enforcement response to this was totally justified. And hats off to them for shutting the freeway down in time before this guy had the chance to cause a major pile up.

Everyone who leads police on deadly car chases should meet the same end.

I am sure he is now realizing just stupid he was acting. A few pieces of jewelry and gold is not worth dying for.

A bummer for the cops who will now live with having to shoot a bad guy. They really earn their money!

Yes, seriously. When did burglary and evasion carry a death sentence? When did assault with a deadly weapon carry a death sentence? Vehicles are designed to protect the occupants, now more than ever. Unless the guy's ramming the driver's door (unlikely if the officer positioned his/her vehicle properly), the guy's not going to be able to cause more than some bruises. If he ran down an officer on foot, that's one thing. Hitting their car is something else entirely. That's a property crime, possibly with intent to cause harm. So arrest him and charge him. But going straight from chasing to shooting when the public isn't in immediate danger doesn't make sense to me. It's pretty sad to see how quick people are to praise the death of another human being. "He was bad, now he's dead, that's good." It actually makes me a little sick and I'm not even a bleeding heart liberal. At least I didn't think I was.

The cops in this town are brutal.. People die in our jails for a minor infraction. I hope but doubt, there will be an investigation!

Almost all the cops in this town are not from this town. I have a feeling that is the reason they treat us like garbage.

If point something at a police officer that can harm them you should expect to die. Period. I'm with Roger, this guy had a death wish.

552, if you think a burglar should be killed in your home for stealing, you shouldn't have a gun. The chase might be different, but you've got a messed up sense of logic.
