Shutting down highway 101 South bound was going Northbound in the Southbound lanes..246 at the 101 South bound. Near the end of the chase he was on the bridge exited the vehicle. I heard officers yell then say suspect was down. Many police agencies responding.

Subject was in green saturn & was going Northbound in Southbound Lane. Copter 2 following.
Passing 246 approaching Santa Rosa. Stopped on bridge. Shots fired. Fire and Medics nearly there.
246 On ramp to 101 Shutdown.

This was a very confusing chase..Officers were responding to a 459 Burglary report. A discription of the suspect vehicle was broadcast 1995 Saturn. One of the officers spotted the vehicle and gave chase this was a very dangerous desprate driver going through emergency lanes and around other vehicles reaching speeds of 80- 100 mph. He even went North in the Southbound lanes of highway 101 for acouple moments.. He stopped on the River Bridge. Last I heard he was down Fire and Medics responding. I think acouple roads are closed up there for the investigation.

Unit heard saying "can you designate a unit to escort ambulance to hospital" haven't heard this before, not sure if this suggests a responder was injured?

No they said Officers were code 4. Maybe the suspect is still alive and they want to make sure somehow he doesn't try to get away again.

Another media source (reporting after Rogers initial report) says suspect rammed a pursuing officer who then opened fire hitting suspect perhaps officer was injured during collision.

Will what I heard was he exited the vehicle then the officers yelling it was kinda hard to hear exacley what they were saying..I did not hear any shots. Then the officer sad Suspect down all officers code 4..

If it's SB Sheriff it's usually not posted on CHP site. Since the final altercation took place on the bridge as well (off the freeway) I doubt you'll see anything on CHP site as well.

SB 101 closed in the Buellton area, southbound travelers advised to use 154. Freeway message signs activated with info by Caltrans the News Press saying shooting involved Sheriffs Deputy and was fatal. Roger hope you r feeling better.

Noozhawk has the article now – a guy came home to find his house being burglarized, burglar took off with police in pursuit, went the wrong way on the freeway(?), police caught up, dude rammed a police car and then the police shot him dead, unknown how many officers fired.

Yes, we raced an older Saturn not too long ago. Subaru vs Saturn. That little gm kept up and even passed us a couple times. Out on the desert highway, you can have a little fun.
