Do-gooders don't know how to say no. Voters don't know how to say no to do-gooders. That is the crux of the problem. And it is a problem. Learn to say no can often be the best doing-good possible. But if not saying no means making promises you cannot later deliver, it is not doing anyone any good except for the instant gratification cheap shot it produces at that very moment.

Do-gooders do very well in the absence of bad-dooers who wrecked the global financial system. The blame is misplaced.

Yes, bad-dooers in Lompoc brought down the global financial system. Glad everyone now knows this. Perhaps we can now get back to why feel-good projects so often go bad. Let's stick to finding solutions instead of finding blame. Something goes wrong when do-gooders are put in charge of do-gooder projects. I contend they don't know how to say no. But often this is the exact word they need to say when trying to execute their programs and not destroy them.

Maybe they should have put Jamie Dimon or Bernie Madoff in charge of those do-gooder projects, 150. After all...look how well they've done!

Let's stick to finding solutions, rather than diffusing blame. Why do do-gooder projects go bad? What goes wrong internally or was the goal off the mark in the first place? A post-mortum please.

What's with all the "do-gooder" "bad-doer" talk? This looks like a simple loan that got caught up in the financial meltdown of 2008 and is now being litigated. Big deal.... They got a sweetheart deal at 1percent above WSJ Prime, but so did a lot of people, that doesn't help when your income source dries up however. You dun borrowed $1mil and now you can't pay it back and are in default. Sound familiar?

Check out the website which has been created to follow this fiasco since warning signs before 2006. Google lhcdc. This group has lost millions while its director earned $100,000 plus up until lhcdc's demise this year. And who pocketed all the money when their properties were purchased by lhcdc? And what elected officials in the 4th district and in Lompoc city and staff members knew all about this????

Why do do-gooder activities go bad? Why are they plagued with internal mismanagement. Are do-gooders inherently incapable of hard-nosed management, accountability and personal responsibility?
