Oh, and what a wine fest it was!

Mmmmmm...Jersey wines! :-).

I had an extra creamy, albeit over-oaked chardonnay, which was nice if you like to drink your wine by sucking it out of a two-by-four. My lady described it as "a wine only a termite would love," but I thought it was pure Cougar Juice.

The pink zin from Los Borrachos Hermanos Cellars was full-bosomed and had an earthy tint to it. It wasn't my favourite wine of the afternoon, but I thought that the loud call to the sommelier from a certain Hope Ranch socialite to "put it back in the horse" was completely inappropriate.

Coup le Fromage Vintners offered a bosomy yet serpentine beaujolais that just screamed "Nyquil." When it finally kicked in, though, it was like being slapped in the face several times in succession by the parlour maid, and when it stops being fun, she offers you a Mallomar.

Next time, though, they should provide Diet Coke as well, since it was so warm out.

Rex, shades of Monty Python's Australian Wine-Tasting hour. ROFLMAO!

Hey, @236P, this local bacchanalia was fun, but nothing like the wine extravaganza that Mrs. Rex and I enjoyed a couple of months ago just outside of Edmonton, Alberta. Did you know that Canada is noted for the production of wheat wine? It has a meaty bouquet with just a whiff of corn. Mighty good drinkin' for the pennies it costs.

And at one of the Edmonton wine booths, they even let you do the Pepsi Challenge. I lost. I couldn't tell Coke Zero from Pepsi One. I'm still bummed about that.

However, I still prefer the robust machismo of Gallo burgundy. It's only eight bucks for two liters at Ralphs, and that's not even a sale price.

So are they going to have Diet Coke at the next SB wine festival?

Sorry I couldn't eat the cheeze, but I'm lactose intolerant. In addition to the cheeze next year, maybe they might consider donuts or some kind of pastry to go with the wine. That would really be a help.

Thank you all anyway.
