The city has plenty of $$$. Don't let them tell you anything different.

Be sure to blow this on more employee benefits rather than attack the backlog of infrastructure maintenance. Underground utilities across this city like the General Plan promised, but do not blow this amount on any more over-paid bloated city employees. Give this money back to the city residents and not hand it over to city employees! It is time.

The so called "Chumash" casino and hotel complex took in $400,000 in sales and bed taxes during that same quarter. The big difference is they put the money in their pocket and don't pay over anything to the state or local government for roads, all the other infrastructure and public services they use everyday at the non-Indian taxpayers expense. That way the 143 tribal members, each making $45,000 every month in profits from the gambling losses (money lost by those trying to win something against insurmountable odds in those unregulated, unpoliced slot machines) can evade all the taxes needed to pay for infrastructure and public services. Did you see any of that when you voted in favor of Proposition 1A back in March of 2000, to help the poor Indians "get off of welfare" of course and to legalized "Indian" casino gambling? Indians who measure any real Indian ancestry (if any) in minute fractions!
