If the car was locked and someone broke in anyway, maybe its better to keep the car unlocked, so at least you don't have a broken window or jimmied door to repair.

837: No, unlocked cars are a easier target. Plenty of people walk down streets at night, testing handles - find on that opens, and they root through your stuff. And it's not just when you park on the street, they come down driveways and private roads, now too. Yes, it sucks to have a window broken, but it's like saying maybe you should just leave your front door open so people don't break the door in if they rob you. Not exactly a smart idea to semi-encourage thieves.
