Likely going to Cottage Hospital. I live directly over the freeway and heard many of them last night.

They were SUPER loud & annoying last night for me on the westside too, I live at the bottom of Carrillo hill. Frustrating to hear it back & forth and going round in circles. I thought that they aren't allowed to do that?

Isn't that when they were searching for the two lost hikers at 7 Falls? Or was that the day before?

They definitely landed at Cottage - two helicopters, one right after another. As soon as the one took off, the other landed. It was noisy for a little whitle, but I didn't really hear anyone hovering for an extended period of time. Just when the one was taking off & the other coming in, it was obviously loud. I live right next to the hospital & flight path. I was wondering what happened, too. Hope everyone's ok.

They are supposed to hover over the ocean if there is another helicopter on the helipad. The Cottage spokesperson stated this at one of their public meetings. Complain to Cottage and to City Council. Cottage will not bother to enforce their policies with the helicopter companies if they are not pressured to. They've proven this time and time again.

No evidence that they were going to Cottage. Please gather facts before complaining to Cottage.

I agree with 685. Not all helicopters flying overhead are going to Cottage.

I live next door, they landed at Cottage. No question, no speculation, they landed on the roof of the building doors away from me. I won't complain that they were hovering, because they really weren't. One came in as the other was leaving - no one was hovering unnecessarily, they were just making the best use of time - one coming while one was going (which may be why it sounded like they were all over the place - there were two, not one). How is it that someone who lives DIRECTLY under where the helicopters fly and land is bothered less by this than other either blocks away, or not even in the flight path? Yes, it's loud. So is traffic, the train and the freeway. Suck it up. Side note: I'm pretty sure the OP just wanted to know why - figures it would have been a pretty big accident for multiple helicopters, and nothing was mentioned here.

They are right outside our windows not over us. It is quieter when they are overhead vs right outside your window. Our window shake like crazy. Can't hear when on the phone etc. When they are right outside of the window. You are lucky that they are overhead.

All you complaining people have clearly not been confronted with the need for a life-saving transport to the ER. Your ignorance is pathetic.

The surf was really loud drowning out the choppers. Did the ocean get approval from the city council?

It was some teenagers who hotwired the helicopter for a joy ride. The helicopters are just used for public annoyance anyway, nothing important!
