I heard stories of this great man through my good friend Ken. I never met Jerry but everytime I read about Clive Cusslers adventures I think of Jerry. Rest in Peace Sir.

Ad a Dentist, Jerry was an artist/craftsman. I had the good fortune to be a patient from 12 yrs to 22 when I moved down south. My next dentist brought a tour group of dental students to view Jerry's work in my mouth. nice guy too and quite the surfer.

Great guy and a great dentist. I remember his meeting me at his office on Labor Day one year when I chipped a tooth. The crowns he did are still going strong. And we always talked about our kids. Haven't had as good a dentist since he retired.

My thoughts out to the Bastian family. Many years of surfing and good times to be remembered.

Jerry was our family dentist for nearly 20 years and was always the consummate professional in his craft. His colorful flowery Hawaiian shirts were the standard uniform in his humming office. We became good friends over the years at the dental office and various repair projects at his cliffside home. He exuded that rare "joie de vivre" which was evidenced by his vivid stories and assorted maritime trophies. His health issues in the last couple of years were very challenging, but he faced every setback with courage and determination. I will always remember his integrity and professionalism, but most importantly his unbounded love and devotion to his family and friends. Rest in eternal peace, weary traveller....

I'm proud to say I was one of the many that new Jerry and were all blessed to have had him in our lives. My wife Christine has been cleaning for him for the past 20yrs, both his dentist office and home. I would get to see Jerry at different parties they would have, but I didn't really know the man until the last six months, my wife and I would stay with him from time to time and what a great time we had. ( mainly me ) He would tell me a bunch of his diving stories, a bout diving on ship wrecks or spear fishing with his friend Johnny. Man what a life he had, I'm sure if they had a dive suit that he could dive real deap the Titanic would be missing a few portholes, ha ha the man loved them. I got to meet the rest of his family at his service ( a celebration of his life ) and I have to say, there all just like him, if Jerry and Chris liked you then you were family to them to. Chris and family, our prayers go out to all of you, your always in our heart with Jerry he'll live on forever..... Love you all..

He was our family dentist for close to 25 years (?)...as well as good friends with my parents. I had a tooth infection when I was about 19 on Christmas Eve and my dad called him, he met us at his office, he took X-rays and sent me to the ER for some pain meds and anti-biotics. I seriously doubt you could find any dentist (or doctor) who would do that these days. He was an awesome guy, the best dentist ever and he will be truly missed. Love and prayers to his family from Lisa (Ashcraft) Mathiasen.

Hey Shakey ~
Johnny the barber?!
I must give him my condolences if so.
I did not know Mr. Bastian; my sympathies to his family and friend.
