Looks like more fun than sitting in a practice room. Very creative mom, kudos!

Excellent idea to have novice violinist practice music at the beach and leave Dad at home to watch TV in peace.

Very cool. There is a homeless guy who sets up his drum set a lot in that area. I always see people joining in and tourists taking pics.

Remember Philip Mann, the former KEYT weather guy, creator of the Phog Monster? At noon, he'd take his trumpet to Hilda McIntyre Ray Park on the upper Mesa and practice blowing it. The acoustics at the park were such that if he stood at the far end, overlooking the city, you could scarcely hear him 100 feet from behind. It was a win/win for everyone.

Add some saxophones, and we'd have "sax and violins" on the beach.

Did you know dogs aren't allowed on City beaches where that photo was taken? Lovely place to play music tho!

@657: The owner of the dog said they were too far away to hear the music, so they were on the grassy area, not the beach.

647: I wrote that I was walking my dog - I did not say where. You should or you might notice the picture was taken from the Cabrillo side of the beach, the ice box plant indicates that. Actually, the photo was taken from the East Beach parking lot, looking wsw, and my dog and I walked along and on Chase Palm Park, not a paw touching the sand.

678, thanks for sharing this picture, lovely idea to play on the beach. Of course, someone had to critize you for their perceived notion of where you were with your dog; some people are just like that, cranky.
