348....looks like you should read the OP's post. The fact that items were stolen from the porch and the car in a neighborhood like that (good one...) leads me to think it was one of his young friends. Time for the neighborhood moms to look around their kids rooms and the garage... Sad.

Give the serial numbers of the bike and ipod touch to the cops. He can probably file for homeowners insurance but the premium may be as much as all the items.

there are a group of kids that tag around the bike path underpass there at night - you might keep an eye out for them.

Definitely give the serial number to the police. My boyfriend and I were on a random trip to a thrift store in Goleta. We parked and there right next to our car was his stolen bike locked up! We called the police, confirmed that the serial number on the bike was the same as the one on the report and the poor guy that bought the stolen bike had to give it back to us.

Check the bike racks at San Marcos if thats closest school! Also i would check craigslist for any recent posts of Itouch's for sale (often at alarmingly cheap prices) i've caught people who have stolen things from me this way and i hope you can too!

I live in the neighborhood as well and am annoyed by this. One of the deleted comments made a good point. Nextdoor.com is a good idea and I'll be signing up. I'll pass it along to my neighbors as well.
