I sent the note in and our service was dead in the early evening and was still dead early this morning. However, now that we are work, service is okay.

I live in Notela and I have 3 bars on my cell phone.
No problems yesterday either. I saw a notice at the Calle Real - North San Marcos Rd yesterday that a new cell tower would be placed there soon. That area is a hill. Perhaps that will help.

I've had a lot of trouble with AT&T recently, both at UCSB and nearby in Goleta. Last couple days have been really bad. Good to know there's reason for it...

Was on patterson and hollister for a few hours yesterday evening and noticed my phone wouldn't connect to the internet. Calling and texting worked fine though.

AT&T Mobility suffered a major network failure yesterday afternoon which is affecting their local cellular service. Currently several cell sites are off line in the Goleta area, including two on campus, so their service is severely limited. They do not have an estimated time of repair but are working to resolve the problem.

I had a lot of trouble yesterday morning. Finally gave up and used a Verizon cell phone. Today the AT&T phone has worked fine. But I heard there is a cell tower out in Lompoc.

I can receive texts, but can not send them. I can not call out, but can receive calls. The call does not come through the phone but goes directly to voice mail and shows up about 15 minutes later. I thought it was my phone but the above comments have me convinced otherwise. Thank you.

just talked to AT&T. Tower out all day - UCSB and Storke to Los Carneros. Expect service back up tonight.

Thanks for posting this info. I live off of Storke and couldn't get a signal (cell or data) for hours yesterday. It came back late at night but it's gone again.

YES- can't send or receive texts or phone calls, but i put my sim card into an old phone and it seems to be working alright? maybe it has a stronger signal-searcher if there is such a thing.

We have had issues with AT&T's signal out in the Winchester Canyon area for MONTHS. Even the 911 dispatcher commented on the bad service out this way. (Call to watch officer was transferred to dispatch for the City of Goleta-must be nice to have weekends off)

I have been having problems all day. My iPhone 4S has no 4G or Edge service out by Goleta City Hall. I had to go to the Calle Real Center area to make an outbound call. And Words With Friends is not working!!!

UPDATE FROM UCSB TELE SVCS.:
AT&T Mobility has advised they continue to suffer from a significant equipment failure in their cellular network serving our area and don't have an estimated time for repair. Service issues are expected to continue into the weekend. boooooooo

I guess you guys have lost interest in this topic. I still have no service in Paradise Road; I only get service when I go over the hill into town. I used to get at least two bars here. I talked to AT&T Customer Relations based in Lubbock TX (at least it wasn't in India) who didn't know anything about the aforementioned outage in this area, but was glad I told him about it. He just said all I could do was WAIT and gave me $20 off my service for the next 6 months - $80 for NO SERVICE as opposed to $104 for NO SERVICE. Whopee Doo!!
