Great write up! I love the shot of the "electrician" laying out by the pool with the FD Caution tape surrounding it!

I report what I hear and I heard the fireman say people were trapped in the pool area.

Tree city USA. My neighbor has a city tree in front of his yard that no one will claim or prune and when its windy like today moves the power lines and cable lines(theres 2 poles within 5 ft of tree) back and forth. Called the city, edison, cox and no one will do anything about the tree. Why do they plant these huge trees right next to and under high voltage poles especially? Is it to hide the ugly poles? The roots have already begun to undermine how secure the pole is and its started to lean as well because of it.

There have been numerous incidents this year of downed wires, as well as fires on the poles. In some cases the wind is a factor and in others, it isn't. I know of one Mesa neighborhood where the pole malfunction and fire caused a surge resulting in the destruction of appliances/electronics and smouldering in the electrical outlets of homes. Edison reimbursed the homeowners for the significant damage, but the seriousness of the issue should be made public. The equipment is old and in need of replacement.
