"The Spirit of Generosity" is what they was taught by their elders. Thank you Chumash for your generous gift of $2,500 dollars. Very generous of you and may the spirits bring you many gamblers to the big house on the plain.

$2,500 seems rather a token contribution for the $200+million gambling operation that has more than 1,500 employees.

643P: Ok, well, how about the 3 million they donated to Santa Ynez Valley High School to upgrade their athletic field? Or the 36K for a SAR vehicle for SB? The list goes on. They donated more than $2500, so don't make it sound like that's the only thing they ever donated. I really don't get this type of sentiment. It's just weird. "Oh THATS ALL they donated?" Yeah? Well how much did you donate to that cause? And exactly what percentage of their profits should go towards that one specific thing? What about all the other causes?

Wow. How much have you complainers contributed to charity this year? Bunch of ungrateful [self-censored]s.

I know people who donate $2500 to the Chumash in just one evening.

They evade well over 6 million in taxes every year that everyone else has to pay, real property taxes, business taxes, sales taxes, state income taxes, transient occupancy (bed) taxes, personal property taxes, etc. yet use all of the public services and infrastructure paid for by the other "non-Indian" taxpayers. Each of the 143 tribal members make over half a million dollars a year each in profits from the losses of gamblers many of whom cannot afford to lose that money. Generous? This Indian gambling casino and others is the biggest scam perpetrated on the American public since Tamany Hall and the few token contributions to charites wont cover it up. "Chumash" ,just pay all the same taxes like everyone else and we won't need your token gifts!

Not really "gifts" in the usual sense since they are required by state law to contribute to charity.
