They are beautiful and so are you. Thanks for sharing the story and the pictures. Hopefully you will find and give that kind of unconditional love again. And - may you all meet at the other end of the rainbow bridge some day.

So sorry for your loss. It looks like you love German Shepard dogs. I volunteer at the SB County shelter and there is a beautiful GSD named Maximillian looking for his forever home.

She sounds like a great dog. I can appreciate that she liked to play with the water from the hose, as I have a 9 year old German Shepherd that also loves this! So sorry about your loss.

My heart goes out to you for losing this lovely wonderful girl. She was so pretty. German Shepherds are my absolute favorite! It's so hard to lose a pet, but you gave her a lifetime of love and dreams come true. God bless you.

From one dog lover to another, I am so sorry for your losses. It's good advice, when you're ready, to check out that GS. You obviously have a lot of love to give.

I don`t understand the reference to traveling to the Channel islands via the "Rainbow-bridge"?..Is`nt that the story of how the Chumash came to the main-land?..This IS the place where all souls cross over, but it`s Pt. Conception [the Western Gate]. Not to minimalize her loss, but if one looks to the islands in rememberance, they`re looking in the wrond direction.

Both were beautiful. So sorry they had to suffer cancer.

In over fifty years, I have had many dogs, but never had to go through cancer with any.

I had two cockapoos, and one had an esophagus and breathing problem. She had a few surgeries, and tonsils out, but the problem persisted. When we were home and she had an attack, we could ring the doorbell and she would bark and get her air back. Other times we would have to give her artificial respiratory aid.

We worried what would happen if she had a seizure and we were not home. One day I came home to find her sister on top of her applying respiratory help. She, Spook, outlived her sister, Brandy, and died of a stroke at age sixteen, as my husband was giving her mouth to mouth breathing.

I know you will give another dog a good home
