All I know about any of this is that Dr. Tom Jones operated on 2 of my family members in very tricky matters and did a fantastic job. Nurses have told me they don't come any better than Dr. Jones.

That isn't relevant to the case, which isn't at all about Dr. Jones' skill.

It doesn't sound like quality of care was the issue but the anti-competitive practices of Jones et al. Maybe Moelleken can take a page from the union complaining about Cottage's labour practices and hire some folks to man banners outside the respective offices of his competitors.

What is a monopoly? Isn't it the cornering of a market where there are no competitors? Sounds like just what Cottage is all about!

Not about the trial, but just for context, I bring you a portion of Tom Tomorrow's "Health Care Reform: A Brief Glossary Of Terms:" Insurance Industry Profit: Primary purpose of American Health System as currently structured. "Here's how it works: You pay us premiums----And we look for reasons to deny you coverage." That's what gets MY goat.

This is unfortunate. It sounded to me like he was treated unfairly by the big monopoly of Cottage Hospital. A more in-depth reporting of this from the standpoint of the jurists would be interesting. It seems as though a few of them were in support of Moelleken's case. A six week trial must have cost him a fortune and really impacted his patients and staff.

90p: A six week trial cost taxpayers a fortune for the courtroom, judge and jury. As the jurors overwhelmingly found Moelleken's case to be a loser, I fail to see what more in-depth reporting has to offer. Is it really unfortunate that a guy who brings in $11 million/yr won't be picking up a cool $5 million by being litigious?

I wish I went with Dr. Jones when I asked my family Dr. who to chose for a foraminotomy. I had one of the other neuro surgeons do it and it was left way worse than before with a huge hole in my C4 Vertebrae and he couldn't reach to remove the large bone spur.. I had to go to LA to have it fused and another operation to remove hardware because of the big hole left by the SB neuro. Subsequently I have had great visits with Dr. Moelikin and heard from several people about how good his work was with them.
